The Louisiana Health Information Management Association (LHIMA) Nominating Committee wants you to suggest fellow members and/or yourself as possible candidates for the LHIMA Executive Board positions for the next fiscal year
July 1, 2012 – June 30, 2013.
ALL NOMINEES MUST BE ACTIVE LHIMA MEMBERS IN GOOD STANDING.
Nominations are open for the following positions:
- President-Elect
- Secretary
- Delegate
President-Elect –Eligibility Criteria:
- Active member of LHIMA
- Service on Board of Directors of LHIMA within the past two years
- Note: Secretary and Treasurer in their first year of a two year term are not eligible.
Responsibilities:
- Serves as a voting board members.
- Serves as an aid to the President and performs duties of President in event of absence.
- Leads yearly Strategic Planning meeting.
- Oversees bylaw revisions. (1 year term preceding the President role)
- Attends conventions and leadership training meetings
Secretary – Eligibility Criteria:
- Active member of LHIMA
- Service as an officer of their district or experience as an elected, appointed, or volunteer position of LHIMA.
Responsibilities:
- Serves as a voting board member.
- Keeps permanent records of LHIMA Board and business meetings and distributes appropriately.
- Maintains attendance rosters for general business meetings. (2 year term)
- Attends national convention once during the 2 year term.
Delegates –Eligibility Criteria:
- Active member of LHIMA
- Experience in HIM
- Demonstrates leadership
- Access to email and the Internet
Responsibilities:
- Serves as a voting board member.
- Attends national AHIMA convention and House of Delegates meetings as a voting member on behalf of LHIMA.
- Communicates to districts any issues the House of Delegates will be voting on.
